Doccius is a real-time collaborative document platform. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about the data we collect and how we use it to deliver a seamless writing and editing environment.

1. Information We Collect

To provide real-time collaboration, document branching, and sync history, we process and store the following information:

• Account Credentials: Your email address, profile name, and profile image provided through secure Google OAuth authentication.
• Document Content: Text, images, drawings, annotations, and structured layout states (including Excalidraw whiteboards) that you author or import.
• Collaborative Data: Temporary presence signals, cursor positions, selection ranges, and usernames transmitted during active co-editing sessions.
• System Configuration: Generated API keys, webhook endpoints, and usage metrics mapped to your account.

2. Product Analytics & User Identification

We track specific user interactions to enhance your experience, diagnose syncing issues, and improve platform performance:

• We use PostHog, a third-party product analytics suite, to capture client-side events, session recordings, and feature usage.
• For authenticated users, we transmit personal details including your user ID, email address, and name to PostHog. This allows us to link usage patterns and error telemetry to your specific account, enabling personalized support and proactive issue resolution.
• Anonymous event telemetry is captured for public pages to measure general platform interest without exposing personal credentials.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your data is processed strictly for the following purposes:

• To orchestrate real-time document synchronization and multi-user presence.
• To calculate mathematical document diffs and manage parallel branches.
• To monitor API Usage quotas (resetting monthly on your registration date).
• To route webhook notifications when document states change.
• To secure the platform, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot latency or database bottlenecks.

4. Storage & Security

All document states and collaborative histories are processed on Cloudflare Edge Infrastructure and stored in D1 databases and Durable Object SQLite files. We implement standard encryption, secure network handshakes, and token-based API authentication to keep your assets safe.

5. Your Choices & Data Rights

You have full control over your documents and account details. You can request account deletion, manage your shared collaborators, reset programmatic API keys, or disable webhooks at any time.
